NFL Weekend Kicks Off with 3 Saturday Games: Schedule, Odds for Colts, Lions, Vikings

For the first time this season, NFL fans are being treated to Saturday games and there are three to watch, including Vikings-Bengals, Colts-Steelers, and Broncos-Lions.

The big game of the week is the Buffalo Bills facing the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The game is in Buffalo and the Bills are 2-point favorites.

Another interesting game to watch will be the New York Jets at the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are favored by 9.5 points. An intriguing wager on that game is the total. The line is set at 37 and the Over might be a smart play here.

Before the Sunday slate, however, we have three Saturday games to sink your teeth into. Take a look at some of the best bets for Saturday and good luck with your bets.

Vikings-Bengals go Over

Despite the matchup between backup QBs Nick Mullens for the Minnesota Vikings, and Jake Browning for the Cincinnati Bengals, I think these teams can hit the Over because, let’s be honest, neither defense is very good.

The BetQL model agrees with me, projecting 43.5 points on average across 10,000 sims, rating the over 40.5 as a four-star value pick. It might be ugly at times (read: it will be ugly at times), but we can at least get to 41 in this one – Brad Pinkerton

Prediction: Vikings-Bengals Over 40.5 (-110 at BetRivers)

Watch: Saturday, 1 p.m. ET, NFL Network or fuboTV

Colts Cover Against Steelers

The Indianapolis Colts are 8-5 against the spread this season, while the Pittsburgh Steelers are 7-6. Pittsburgh has also failed to cover their last two spreads and three of their last five.

The Colts have covered four of their last five spreads. The Colts have also covered in three of their last four at home. With the Colts averaging 24 points scored per game and the Steelers averaging just 16 points scored per game, I see the Colts covering at home – Lucy Burdge

Prediction: Colts -1.5 (-110 at BetMGM)

Watch: Saturday, 4:30 p.m. ET, NFL Network or fuboTV

Broncos-Lions Rack up the Points

While the defense of the Denver Broncos has improved quite a bit from the start of the season, it still ranks 30th in total yards allowed per game (377.4). It is also dead-last against the run (144). The Detroit Lions have two backs in David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs that can do quite a bit of damage, which will help open up the passing game.

Detroit’s defense is slightly better on the season, but has been awful lately, giving up at least 28 points in three of its last four games. Offensively, the Lions are top-10 in total offense, passing offense, rushing offense and scoring offense. They will also benefit from being back at home where Jared Goff will find success playing indoors.

I see this game becoming somewhat of a shootout, so I’ll play the Over – Kate Constable

Prediction: Broncos-Lions Over 47.5 (-110 at BetMGM)

Watch: Saturday, 8:15 p.m. ET, NFL Network or fuboTV

Reluctantly Taking Lions

Picking the Lions is disgusting since they are a massive fraud, but this is a great spot to back them. Someone clearly saw that the other day when this line moved from -3.5 to -4.5 in a matter of minutes, and now it’s sitting in the dead zone at -5.

Denver’s winning streak is smoke and mirrors, as the Broncos have gotten some really incredible turnover luck. In other words, regression is bound to happen soon.

Goff is terrible outdoors in any sort of weather conditions, but he’s back home in the climate-controlled dome. I’m buying low on Detroit here in a good bounce-back spot – Matt Horner

Prediction: Lions -5 (-110 at Caesars)

Watch: Saturday, 8:15 p.m. ET, NFL Network or fuboTV
