Five Best Bets for College Football Win Totals

As our college football preseason deep dive continues this week, we turn our attention to win totals bets. There are tons of win totals worth investigating beyond just what is listed below.

Each Division I team has a line set for their expected wins. Bettors can wager on the Over and Under of those totals.

These are five strong candidates but realistically win totals are difficult to predict so there is definitely always going to be some room to beat the sportsbooks here. Below are five of our favorites to bet on this season.

Boise State Broncos Buck Over Total Wins

The Boise State Broncos are coming off a Mountain West Conference championship game loss a year ago. This was a season in which the Broncos went a perfect 8-0 in conference en route to a 10-4 overall record.

The team is favored to win the conference this season due to a high percentage of returning players in the starting lineup who have had success in this conference and have postseason experience.

Considering the Broncos almost eclipsed 8.5 wins just in conference play last season and look ready to have a similar season this year, the Over at +107 at BetRivers should be a safe bet here.

Make your first-time deposit with BetRivers in Michigan and New Jersey and place your first sports wager. If your first wager loses, receive a Free Bet, equal to your stake, up to a maximum of $500.

Virginia Cavaliers Futility Continues

The Virginia Cavaliers posted a 3-7 (1-6 in conference) record last season and don’t look any better this season. Virginia is expected to sit at the bottom of the ACC again this season. They will actually have a harder out-of-conference schedule this season than last.

With the Tennessee Volunteers, Maryland Terrapins, and William & Mary Tribe on the schedule, combined with the tough ACC group it is easier to see Virginia going winless than going Over 3.5 wins. The odds reflect that as they’re -150 to go Under at BetMGM.

Tulane Takes Advantage of Easier AAC

The Tulane Green Wave won 12 games a season ago and their conference got easier this year. The Green Wave had by far the best record in the American Athletic Conference and coasted to an easy conference championship game victory.

Now the second-and-third-place teams, the UCF Knights and Cincinnati Bearcats, have left for the Big 12.

Tulane is returning a high percentage of their starters from last season and have some key transfers coming in as well. This should be an easy road to double-digit wins for the Green Wave this season. Their total is set at nine at Caesars and the Over is -125.

New users can place a sports cash wager at Caesars Sportsbook of $10 or more and receive 1,000 Reward Credits, 1,000 Tier Credits AND if you lose the first real money bet you place, receive a bet up to $1,250!

USC Gunning for College Football Playoffs Spot

The USC Trojans are coming off an 11-3 season in which they came just a game away from qualifying for the College Football Playoff. Quarterback Caleb Williams will be not only looking to defend his Heisman trophy victory, but will also try to take this team one step further this year and advance to the CFP.

USC is bringing in a lot of new talent this season. That is a main reason for this total being a tad low. But Williams thrived last year after he transferred. He showed a knack for quickly getting accustomed to new talent. If he can get his new team rolling quickly, the sky is the limit. The Trojans should at least be able to push at 10 wins if not overcome this number. The Over for 10 wins is -115 at Caesars.

Kent State Worst of the Worst

The Kent State Golden Flashes could very well be the worst team in the worst conference in America this year. The Flashes posted a semi-respectable 5-7 (4-4 in the MAC) record a season ago but are expecting a large drop-off this time around.

Their head coach, Sean Lewis, decided to leave after five seasons with the team to join Deion Sanders in Colorado.

Many Kent State players decided to follow Lewis out the door and are with new teams this season. This program has taken a bad team and made it much worse. The Golden Flashes’ trademark brutal out-of-conference schedule looks just as daunting as ever this coming season. This team is likely to win just a game or two this year. The total is set at 2.4 with the Under at -130 at Unibet.

New sportsbook customers at Unibet receive a special offer worth up to $200. Join the sportsbook and they will match your first cash bet up to $50 four times for a total of $200 in free bets.
